Mississippi Positioned For Progress

Recently the Mississippi Economic Council posted an article written by Dr. hank Bounds,Ph.D., Commissioner of Higher Education and Chair of Blueprint Mississippi 2011 which highlights Mississippi’s progress and how the state is positioned for continued growth. In the article Dr. Bounds outlines that the economic growth experienced by Mississippi is largely due to the increasing number of more educated individuals in the workforce.

Mississippians should be extremely excited by the industry that has already come to Mississippi and the prospects for future development. Dr. Bounds also touts a strong leader like Governor Haley Barbour and a forward thinking legislature who have brought these businesses to Mississippi as being a driving factor in economic development.

With each passing year Mississippi has seen large industries move to Mississippi and begin putting our citizens back to work.
